Reading Intervention Instruction
The following resources are used in Reading Lab:
Novel Study Chapter books are used to help students apply reading strategies, think deeply about texts and build reading stamina. |
Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) [Fountas and Pinnell]
This powerful, short-term intervention, provides daily, intensive, small-group instruction, which supplements classroom literacy teaching. After instructional levels of students are determined, small groups of similar readers are formed to provide specific lessons based on students' needs. |
In addition to Reading Lab, students are expected to read books in their Language Arts classes. They will be responsible for reading independently.
Students are expected to read at home daily whenever possible for 20-30 minutes. |
